A Roaring Spring meat processing and retail facility has been approved for a 15-year loan of $ 250,000 from the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority to construct a 3,000 square foot addition.
Mitchell and Bethann Frederick operate in a 2,800 square foot building. The addition will more than double the size. The project is estimated at $ 500,000.
The finished 5,800 square foot facility will include retail space, office, washroom, cutting room, prep space, two cold rooms and a walk-in freezer. The project is expected to retain four jobs and create three new full-time jobs within three years.
In addition, Jeremy and Mary Breon were approved for a 12-year $ 400,000 PIDA loan to build a 26,880 square foot chicken coop on the Breons’ farm in Tell Township, County. from Huntingdon.
The Breons have entered into a seven-year contract, with a seven-year automatic renewal, with Farmers Pride Inc. operation of broilers. The total cost of the project is $ 841,000.
Both loans were facilitated by the Southern Alleghenies Planning & Development Commission.
