Northcliff’s space for creative businesses
Open market space to support local businesses and serve the community.
Located at the center of the Tshepo Community Development Initiative on Pendoring Road in Northcliff, GIFTed is a market space/gift and decoration store that provides a permanent space for local makers to display their wares on a permanent basis.
According to founder Yasmine Miemiec, the main goal of the market is to give entrepreneurs a space where they can display and sell their products outside of market days or alongside their full-time jobs. It will also serve as a drop-off point for local charities and offer several craft workshops for the community. and residents can get to know the creators, and we also support 4 NGOs – Fairland Feral Cats, Charity Begins with Me, Kindness Like Confetti and Chic Mama’s Do Care.
GIFTed has manufacturers who feature products like garden planters; funky socks, jewelry, eco-friendly, leather, beaded, textile bags, ceramic figurines, crochet dolls, caps and more while striving to attract others. They recently had their grand opening which was a big hit. “We had a lot of visitors who had such positive reactions to the space. Some have said it’s time for Johannesburg to have creative spaces and take the Cape Town monopoly away, we needed something different in our region,” said Miemiec.
She added that she had always dreamed of opening such a space and was lucky that the Tshepo board liked the idea and agreed to let her put the store on their site.
Miemiec, who hosted the annual Fairland CPF Market, looks forward to the many events held at the store. “We are starting a farmers market on site, with the first taking place on April 2. You will know from my involvement with the Fairland CPF market that I am committed to showing residents that it is not necessary to support only big box stores. stores. There is so much talent, drive and entrepreneurship here in our region, the joy should be in acknowledging and supporting that.
GIFTed operates Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and weekends from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
