Roger Joseph Schoenherr, 84, died surrounded by his wife and children in his Cadillac home on September 25, 2021.
Edward and Irene Schoenherr’s tenth child of Centerline, Michigan. Preceded in death by his siblings JimJackBudBobBillHoneyTomPatRichard (Roger) DennyTM. Last surviving member of the great house of Edward Schoenherr.
Survived by his beloved wife Patricia (née Markovich), seven children Paul, Katie (Maynard), Ann, John, Tim (Tina), Matt (Jill), David (Stephanie) and twelve wonderful grandchildren. Childhood friends with Bucky Cronin, Giggy McFarland and Peanuts Stilchowski. United in holy marriage to his beloved wife, Pat, in July 1963 and shared 58 years together, raising 7 children in Shelby Township, Michigan. “Oy, honey! ”Graduated from the University of Detroit in 1963, with a degree in dentistry. Served as a captain in the US Army stationed in Bad Nauheim, Germany. Roger’s passion for his career in dentistry is only surpassed by his unquenchable love for dentistry-themed statuettes. “Bad tooth, doctor!
Known for his love of butter and its effects on small stones. Global mittens, dinner snorkelers, game players, and blue woven loungers. He liked to send his children out on an occasional quest for his “good mowers” and a stick (he still didn’t know what the stick was for). Champion weed puller, floriculturalist, garden scrubber and garden master. Famous tenor of the church choir. Club Martini Grand Poobah. Holder of the Thanksgiving prank title and wearer of the Christmas plaid pants. Avid Fourth of July pot banger. Campsite police. Master of Ceremonies of the Prom Greeting Line. A commemorative mass will be held at the Sainte-Anne Catholic Church in Cadillac on Friday October 8, 2021 at 11 a.m. with visits one hour before.
