Vintage Long Island store selling Christmas decorations from the 1940s and beyond


If you are looking for vintage Christmas ornaments and decorations, Rosie’s Vintage Pop Up Sale is the place to be.

In addition to ornaments sold individually or in bundles, this vintage Huntington emporium’s Christmas shop features little Santa Claus, ceramic elves and reindeer, festive mugs, an endless assortment of holiday-themed salt and pepper shakers, angel candle holders, snowman candles, angel bells and reindeer felt. There are glassware with mistletoe, wreaths, holly and Christmas tree designs, and ceramic illuminated Christmas trees in various sizes. They’re “perfect for people who don’t want a real tree, but want the party feeling,” says owner Thea Morales, who opened the store five years ago.

You will also find Christmas tableware, stemware, napkin holders, cookie jars, planters, pitchers, linens, aprons, postcards, greeting cards and other ephemera, framed sheet music, children’s books and records.

“Everything from Sinatra to the Chipmunks,” Morales says.

Rosie’s offers Christmas stickers made from everyday items, like mugs and spice boxes decorated with trinkets, bells and balls, made in Kings Park by Karen Fisher.

“Ninety-five percent of the vintage Christmases we have in our store come from Long Island homes,” says Morales.

There are cute and colorful Putz houses from Japan, handcrafted in the 1940s-1960s out of cardboard, ‘snow’ glitter mica, and acetate, some of which are wired to light up.

Beyond the Christmas Shop, Rosie’s offers vintage clothing, figurines, records, toys, signs, decorative platters, framed art, kitchen utensils, cookie jars, and more on two floors. clocks, jewelry, mirrors, handbags, linens and vases, including Lady Head collectible vases from the 1940s, 50s and 60s. Even the cash register, circa 1929, is vintage, but not for sale.
